Customer information systems (CIS) are vital to utility operations, but for many utilities they are antiquated – especially when it comes to meeting the data and integration needs for the utility of the future. We at Chartwell interviewed 31 utilities last year about the status of their CIS, if they had a new one or planned to implement one soon. Sixteen of those 31 utilities – 52% – told us their current CIS (whether new or legacy) didn’t meet their current business needs. Read more here.
